Frequently Asked Questions

 

1. What should I wear?

Simply wear comfy and sport clothes. 

2. What should I bring?

Please bring clean socks to wear inside the studio.  I recommend grippy socks as they work better on the pilates apparatus.  Also bring your water bottle and a gym towel.

3. I'm a new student, how do I get started for private sessions?

Brand new to pilates or to Pilates Glow and not sure how to get started for private sessions? I have created the intro pass for you which includes : 3 private pilates sessions ($75 each but valued at $110), a thorough initial assessment, a personalised programming AND a personalised exercise routine for home with easy to follow videos ($45 but valued at $88). Investment is $270 but valued at $410, that's 35% OFF! 

To book your intro pass simply jump onto "SERVICES" page, select "PRIVATE PILATES - STUDIO", then follow the prompts to complete your booking. Make sure you select "PRIVATE INTRO PASS" for your pricing plan during checkout process.

4. I'm a new student, how do I get started for group classes?

Brand new to pilates or to Pilates glow and not sure how to get started for group classes? Take advantage of my "GROUP NEW CLIENT" deal and get your first class for only $22. There is no initial consultation or assessment required prior to join a group class, apart from answering a very thorough questionnaire before your first class.

To book online, simply jump on the  "SERVICES" page and select either "GROUP PRENATAL CLASS", "MUMS & BUBS PILATES CLASS" or "OPEN GROUP CLASS", then follow the prompts to complete your booking.   Make sure you select "Group new client" for your pricing plan during checkout process.  Investment is $22 but valued at $35, that's 35% OFF!

 

All group classes are currently held outdoor at the idyllic Grant reserve in Coogee (weather permitting).  In case of rain, the classes will be either held at my studio or at the St-Brigid's Parish Hall in Coogee. This would be communicated at least one hour before your class via email.  

5. I'm pregnant, when can I start?

I would normally start seeing my pregnant clients anytime after 12 weeks of pregnancy either for private pilates sessions of group classes. It's usually the time when they start feeling a bit better and with a bit more energy and when the morning sickness is generally gone. Since private pilates sessions and group prenatal sessions are completely tailored-made for pregnancy and adjusted to your own individual needs (even in group setting), it is not only safe but beneficial to practice pilates during your pregnancy. 

 

Always make sure you  have your  GP clearance to exercise though.  General rule, it's a good idea to start being active earlier than later during your pregnancy.  This way your body has time to adjust to its new weight and centre of gravity as your baby grow. It will also greatly help for your body recovery after birth too. 

6. I'm postpartum, how early can I start?

I normally start seeing my clients postnatally when they start feeling ready to do more than just walking and gentle breathing based core and pelvic floor muscle re-activation. This can be anytime between 4 to 6 weeks postnatally to a few months or even years! 

 

The bottom line here is that it's never too late or too early to start reconnect and rebuild your core and pelvic floor after pregnancy and birth, because the exercises will always be  adjusted to where you are in terms of recovery. Having said that, I believe the earlier the better so you won't get stuck into poor body mechanisms, weak pelvic floor and core muscles which ultimately leads to back pain, pelvic floor issues (incontinence, prolapse, painful sex...etc). 

 

I strongly encourage my postnatal clients to try getting one hour a week of pilates "self-care", as early as they can fit it into their busy schedule. The first few weeks are being focusses on gently muscles re-activation and gentle stretches to help the body heal and bring blood flow to the injured areas.

7. I'm not pregnant or postpartum can I still book myself in?

Of course! I'm happy to help you stay strong and flexible wether or not pregnant/postpartum.  I have years of experience in teaching a wide variety of clients with or without injuries and would be happy to help you too.  If you have any questions in that regard, don't hesitate to email me with your questions at bianca@pilatesglow.com.au

8. What is your cancellation policy?

Late cancellations, within 24hrs for private sessions and 4hrs for group classes, or no show will unfortunately mean that you will lose this appointment/class.

 

Please download the Fit by Wix app on your phone to easily book, reschedule or cancel any of your appointments/classes. 

 

To cancel your membership, notify me via email at least one week before your next payment.   

 

Home visits are available but will incur a $30 surcharge travel fees per session (only available for travel within 5km radius from the studio).

 

Paid plans cannot be refunded.  

9. Are you a COVID SAFE business ?

Yes we are a registered COVID SAFE business and taking all the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the virus into our community.  I kindly ask you not to come to your session if you are unwell, are high risk, in isolation, or have been in contact with anyone with COVID symptoms.

  • Fever

  • Coughing

  • Shortness of breath

 

The use of hand sanitiser in addition to strict cleaning procedures for all the equipments and props in between each clients ensure that we are doing everything to prevent any community transmission.​

 

All appointments are 55 minutes. This allows 5 minutes in between each session to minimise contact between clients and allow for good cleaning and sanitisation of the studio. 

 

10. I have already used my "GROUP NEW CLIENT" deal, how can I book my next group class?

Simple jump onto "SERVICES" page and select either "GROUP PRENATAL CLASS", "MUMS & BUBS PILATES CLASS" or "OPEN GROUP CLASS", then follow the prompts to complete your booking.  You will have the options of either buying a pack of 5 classes ($140), a pack of 10 classes ($250) or a casual class ($35) which ever works better for you. 11. I have already used my "PRIVATE INTRO PASS" deal, how can I book my next private session?

Simple jump onto "SERVICES" page and select either "PRIVATE PILATES - STUDIO", then follow the prompts to complete your booking.  You will have a few membership options (4.6, 8 or 12 sessions per month starting at $352 per month/$88 per session) OR the option to pay as you go with the casual session fees ($110) which ever works better for you.
